Our story: We travelled to England this past Fall, arriving at London Heathrow. We always need to rent a vehicle to go the 2.5 hours away to our family near Bath & Bradford on Avon. This trip we decided to go with SIXT Car Rental.
They’re located in Terminal 2 at LHR & are very easy to find. The check-in was very quick, the staff friendly, with good advice.
The car was a fairly new Volkswagen T ROC that was very good on fuel & comfortable.
When it was time to return the car, it was simple to find the drop off spot at LHR, where another team member was waiting. Within five minutes, he had greeted us, asked about our trip, checked over the vehicle with us (for any damages), and showed us how to get to Terminal 3.
This was the best experience we’ve had with a car rental company in many, many trips. The only thing that we would consider a negative: the lighting in the carpark was a bit dim so taking photos & video of any damage or marks before we left with the vehicle was a bit tricky. (We have had a terrible experience in the past where we were blamed for damage to a vehicle we had rented, yet hadn’t actually damaged ourselves. Luckily we had photos & video with timestamps to prove it wasn’t us. Now we’re very careful. We would highly recommend when you rent a vehicle – take photos all any & all scratches, dents etc then also do video. Keep that until check-out & for a few weeks after.)
