Paris 3-Course Dinner Cruise, Along the River Seine ⎸ Worth The Time & Money

The weather was atrocious… I mean it was absolutely hammering down rain with crazy winds… so we weren’t even sure the cruise was going to happen.

We took an Uber from our Paris apartment and got to where all this giant signage said a cruise of the same name was. Luckily, since we were so early, Mr. MRT went to check that this was indeed our dock. It was not.

We had to walk wayyyy back up where we had first come in and found our way to the only other place we could make out… because it was all in darkness & there was no signage like the company’s other boat. Very frustrating.

We weren’t allowed to get on the boat out of the rain until the exact moment of our trip, so most of the diners were soaked to the skin.

We were shown to our table, right by the windows, as no one was seated behind us we could try to hang our jackets to dry on the extra seats.

We were brought wine to start, and with nice background music playing, off we started. They did lower the lights for us to see out better but with the rain, the glare made it tricky to get photos.

As we cruised, we passed other boats, went under many bridges, saw the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre, Pont Alexandre, the Musee d’Orsay and ate a delicious meal.

There was pumpkin soup with basil oil, and a stew of sautéed veal, mushroom cream, carrots and onions. Dessert was Chocolat Mousse. Each course was fresh and delicious.

We came upon something we hadn’t known was in Paris before… their own Statue of Liberty(technically one of a few there)! This particular statue was given to France in 1889 by the United States to commemorate the centennial of the French Revolution. It’s located on the Pont de Grenelle so that it lines up with the Eiffel Tower. Even cooler, this exact statue was originally one of the working models made while preparing to construct the “real thing.”

37 bridges and footbridges span the Seine, connecting the Left Bank to the Right Bank. It was really cool to see many of them along the way. While we waited for our cruise we saw many people walking and jogging along the banks. It’s obviously a well loved area.

Had it not been such a torrential downpour, it would have been cool to go outside for photos as well, but it just wasn’t possible.

Despite the confusion of where to find our boat at the start of the night & the terrible weather, we really did enjoy seeing Paris this way. We booked through Viator, and thought the price was good value.
