Springhill Suites by Marriott Bonvoy

We’ve heard about this next place for many years, yet had never been…

We finally went to see Leavenworth, in the USA, on a little day trip in late November.

After searching around online we found this hotel, Springhill Suites by Marriott Bonvoy. First off, easy to find & looked nice and modern outside. There were lots of restaurants, a Starbucks & groceries close by.

The lobby was bright & functional with a snack bar, microwave, coffee bar & a big screen TV playing a football game.

The front desk clerk was friendly & efficient – we had checked in online so had our key cards in no time at all.

Our room was spacious & very clean. As you entered there was a couch (that made into a bed) with a large foot stool & a comfortable work station/desk. The TV could be turned to watch from the lounge area or the bed. There was a microwave, coffee maker, small fridge & some teas.

The king bed was immaculate & comfortable with plenty of pillows. Both nightstands had outlets next to them. The bathroom was unique with the toilet & a sink in one space & the shower with another sink in a separate space next to it.

There was plenty of clothing hanging space, an extra blanket + iron & ironing board in the closet.

When buying snacks from their good-sized selection in the lobby, I was asked if there was anything else I needed, I said I couldn’t find milk to buy for our morning tea & coffee – they couldn’t have rushed quicker to bring me some milk from the kitchen, at no charge!

There was free breakfast that consisted of fresh waffles, oatmeal with plenty of toppings, sausages, and eggs, biscuits and gravy, apples, yogurt, coffee, tea, and two types of children’s cereals. There was also toast and fresh juice.

One issue we would say was the traffic from the road, as that’s where our room faced, but later at night it was quieter. We had children absolutely pounding across the floors above us from 4:30pm until midnight, when we finally called the front desk. They immediately called the room and the noise stopped. There was a family staying in two rooms & they went back & forth, slamming doors & speaking loudly until after 11:30pm. You wouldn’t think you’d have to tell people to keep the noise down after 9pm, even 10pm, let alone midnight…

There was free parking onsite + a pool, hot tub & gym. Though it was a decent stay, we felt the high price didn’t quite reflect the normal Marriott standard. Read about our trip to Leavenworth.
