“Very Spacious, Great Location: Castle & Sea View”
That’s what caught our attention when we were searching out accommodations in Cornwall, UK, for us, our two teenage grandsons & my mother in law. We finally booked via booking.com. We have booked quite a number of places to stay via this app and have usually been very happy.
The Marazion accommodation offered three bedrooms & a comfortable living room with an excellent, good-sized, bright kitchen.
We could see how guests would enjoy a sunny day on the terrace, and in the garden, but as it was the end of December/beginning of January, the weather was very rainy and windy.
It was such a clean, well organized and comfortable space. The linens were excellent, the tea & coffee plentiful, there were games, even free wifi & TV. Additional facilities included an electric vehicle charging station, outdoor seating area, picnic area & bicycle parking.
3 Days in Cornwall: We Needed A Central Base For Travel
Prime Location: Located 13 miles from Land’s End Airport and 1 mile from St Michael’s Mount (which we visited, see links below), the property provides easy access to local attractions such as Perranuthnoe Beach (1.2 mi) and Minack Theater (14 mi).
We gave high marks for room comfort, cleanliness, having all the kitchen necessities you need to prepare meals & would definitely stay here again.
Whenever the opportunity arises, we make every effort to visit Cornwall when we’re back in England.
It was New Year’s Eve, winter had well and truly arrived, and we hoped we had booked the right accommodation. The answer was a resounding yes!
Our first destination to explore was the Marazion and Perranuthnoe area of West Cornwall and then a walk out to St Michael’s Mount. We were well positioned.
By the time we arrived at our rental cottage, however, Cornwall had decided to remind us that this was definitely winter. The wind was howling. We were very pleased to get inside.
Would We Stay Here Again?
This holiday home featured a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, and private check-in + check-out services. Absolutely. Winter Cornwall isn’t the same as summer Cornwall. However, we had a fantastic time.
But winter also gave us something different. We experienced crashing Atlantic waves at Land’s End, quieter fishing villages, dramatic skies and some of our favourite Cornish landscapes without peak summer crowds.
More importantly, we experienced it together.
Three generations of our family packed into a car, travelling around a county that has meant so much to our family for decades. We certainly packed a lot into three days in Cornwall. There were castles, harbours, pasties, ferries, wild seas, an enormous indoor rainforest, a high-speed zip wire and even a former prison. Check out our entire itinerary here or check the links below.
