Why We Keep Coming Back to The Venetian

Whenever we start planning another trip to Las Vegas, the same conversation always seems to happen. “Should we try somewhere different this time?”

Within a few minutes we’re usually looking at The Venetian again.

It isn’t because there aren’t plenty of fantastic hotels in Las Vegas, there are. It’s because The Venetian has become part of our Vegas experience. It holds some wonderful memories for us and, after staying there, it’s difficult not to compare every other resort against it. For us, it simply ticks every box.

A Resort That Feels Like a Destination

The first time we walked through the doors we couldn’t believe the scale of the place. The soaring ceilings, marble floors, detailed architecture and indoor canals immediately make you feel as though you’ve stepped into another country rather than another hotel.

Inspired by Venice, Italy, the resort recreates famous landmarks, beautiful piazzas and winding canals where real gondoliers serenade passengers as they glide beneath bridges and through the Grand Canal Shoppes.

It’s theatrical. It’s over the top. And somehow, it works brilliantly.

Even after several visits, we still enjoy wandering through the resort simply to soak up the atmosphere.

Spacious Suites Make a Huge Difference

One of the biggest reasons we love staying here is that every room is a suite. That extra living space makes a real difference, especially after spending long days walking the Strip. Instead of simply having a bed and television, our suite gave us a comfortable lounge area, plenty of room to unpack and one of the largest hotel bathrooms we’ve experienced in Las Vegas. The marble bathroom featured an oversized bathtub, separate shower and enough space that it never felt cramped.

For couples especially, the additional room creates a much more relaxing stay.

Outstanding Dining

If there’s one thing The Venetian certainly doesn’t lack, it’s choice.

The resort is home to dozens of restaurants covering almost every cuisine imaginable. During our stay we enjoyed dinner at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill and Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill.

Both meals were outstanding. The food was excellent, the service was equally impressive and we left wondering why we’d ever need to leave the Strip to find somewhere to eat.

Whether you’re looking for fine dining, casual cafés, Italian cuisine or a quick snack between sightseeing, there’s something here for almost every budget and taste.

Shopping Without Leaving the Resort

Attached to the hotel is the beautiful Grand Canal Shoppes, one of our favourite shopping areas anywhere in Las Vegas.

Luxury boutiques sit alongside cafés and restaurants while musicians and street performers entertain visitors beneath an artificial blue sky complete with drifting clouds. It feels more like strolling through an Italian village than walking around a shopping mall. Even if shopping isn’t your thing, it’s well worth visiting simply to enjoy the atmosphere.

Gondola Rides

One attraction everyone immediately notices is the gondolas. Watching the gondoliers sing while steering their boats through the canals has become one of the resort’s signature experiences.

Although many visitors choose to take a ride themselves, simply watching them glide beneath the bridges while enjoying a coffee nearby is entertaining in its own right. It’s one of those uniquely Las Vegas experiences that perfectly captures the city’s flair for creating unforgettable attractions.

Relaxation

Las Vegas can be surprisingly exhausting. Fortunately, The Venetian makes relaxing very easy.

The multiple swimming pools provide plenty of space to unwind, while the famous Canyon Ranch Spa + Fitness is regarded as one of the finest wellness facilities on the Strip. Whether you’re recovering from a late night or simply enjoying a quieter day, the resort offers plenty of opportunities to slow down.

One of the Best Locations on the Strip

Location is another major reason we continue returning.

Situated in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, The Venetian provides easy access to neighbouring resorts, shows, shopping, restaurants and attractions. Many of Las Vegas’ biggest highlights can be reached on foot, allowing us to explore during the day before returning to the comfort of our suite. We have walked to many concerts and shows as they are usually minutes from the Venetian.

We've stayed in several excellent hotels over the years, but whenever someone asks us where we'd recommend staying in Las Vegas, our answer comes without hesitation. The Venetian.
It combines luxury, comfort, entertainment, shopping and outstanding dining in one spectacular resort. Could we stay somewhere else? Absolutely. Will we? Probably not. For us, The Venetian has become more than just a hotel. It's one of the reasons we love coming back to Las Vegas.
