Soar Across Canada Without Leaving Vancouver’s Spectacular Downtown Waterfront

FlyOver Canada is a ride in Vancouver you have to do at least once and then you end up taking every visitor who comes to town.

It’s at Canada Place, right on the waterfront in downtown Vancouver. From the outside it looks small, but inside it’s a full flight simulation.

We were strapped into chairs with our feet dangling, and then a massive 20-meter spherical screen wrapped around us. Wind, mist, scents; they threw everything at us. And then we “flew.”

The main show is FlyOver Canada; we soared from coast to coast. One minute we’re gliding over the Rockies and Moraine Lake, next we’re skimming over Niagara Falls, then over Toronto, the Prairies, and finally out over the East Coast and the Atlantic.

It’s cheesy in the best way, and it genuinely took our breath away. We felt like we were dipping and diving through valleys.

They also rotate seasonal films; FlyOver Iceland, FlyOver the American West, and at Christmas, FlyOver Santa is huge with families. The films change every few months, so it’s worth going back.

Tip: Book online — it sells out on weekends and holidays. Weekday mornings are dead quiet. It’s 8-10 minutes long, but give yourself 45 minutes total with the pre-show.

Location: At Canada Place in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

It’s right next to the Vancouver Lookout and the harbour, easy to make a half-day of Gastown + FlyOver. You’ll get a little misty on the Niagara and ocean parts, don’t wear your best suede.

It’s touristy, yes, but even locals love it because you see Canada the way you never could driving.

Admission & Opening Hours

Flyover is located at 201–999 Canada Place, Vancouver. At Canada Place in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

The official site currently lists hours as Monday–Thursday, 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; Friday–Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Experiences depart approximately every 15–20 minutes, and the complete experience takes about 25 minutes. Hours can change.

Admission: Flyover now uses variable pricing, meaning there isn’t one reliable adult admission price to publish. Prices vary by date, projected attendance and how early you book. The attraction says advance online booking provides the lowest available rate, and a BC Locals Rate is also offered with valid BC identification.

The overall feedback is strong. Tripadvisor currently shows 4.4/5 from more than 7,300 reviews and a Travellers’ Choice designation.

Recent positive reviews repeatedly praise the aerial photography, realistic sensation of flying, scenery and immersive effects. Visitors describe it as exciting, beautiful and worthwhile, with several saying they would happily experience it again.

Beware: There is one recurring criticism worth mentioning: the actual flight is short for the admission price. Even some visitors who loved the experience wished the flying portion lasted longer.
